    Edible & Editable

    National Yorkshire Pudding Day!

Usually a Sunday but this is the ultimate Sunday to have a roast, whether you have it at lunch or dinner, go full out and don’t forget to include a Yorkshire! Visit or research Yorkshire as well if you can.

    Change Your Password Day!

Let’s take a hot second to get serious- I promise it won’t be for long. Too many times passwords get leaked in data breaches so not surprising that your device sometimes might tell you your password contains a common word for that particular site so to fix this, an idea would be to get your device to automatically create a strong password for you when signing up to something. This day reminds us to quickly go into Settings and fix our passwords. I mean you could try using STRON9P@$$$W0RD! though chances are it’ll be common.

    National Dark Chocolate Day!

Not only the simple joys of milk chocolate are worth celebrating. There’s a day for those with more bitter tastebuds if you relish in the dark kind of chocolate that could be flavoured with coffee, dark toffee or enough flavour on its own.

  • 31st January

Tip: we don’t recommend that you attempt to make hot chocolate facing backwards whilst dressed as a zebra

    National Hot Chocolate Day!

Time for a wonderfully chocolatey beverage. Mostly enjoyed hot but we’re not judging if you want something similar that tickles your sweet tooth! Have toppings such as cream, marshmallows or dairy-free alternatives.

    Day Backward National!πŸ™ƒ

See what we did there? Wear your clothes backwards, text backwards, speak backwards or do whatever else might confuse your neighbours! Be sure to have fun and remember that eating backwards or upside down could be a trip to A & E so stay safe people!

    International Zebra Day!

Celebrating the black and white striped horses that live in hot countries. Use a zebra crossing – I presume you would anyway! Find a toy zebra or bring back zebra print if you find an item of clothing to wear that’s zebra print.

Escapism not escapology – that’s very different

    National Fun at Work Day!

There’s many many ways you could make your work fun, whether it’s written work/working from home or a busy social environment. Play little games with yourself or other colleagues that amuse you. Encourage ideas that will brighten your colleagues’ day and bring smiles to their faces. Examples of games include trying to say a certain word in a conversation or having a workplace competition with each other, playing for rewards.

    National Draw a Dinosaur Day!

Exactly what it says in purple. (usually people would say in black and white) Draw whichever dinosaur you want! This National day was created in 2007 when a bored student was doodling dinos, realised how good he was at art and encouraged his classmates to do the same and draw a dinosaur and the rest as they say is history!

    National Escape Day!

Escape into art, music and media to give yourself a few moments of calm. If you’re also away on holiday having a real magical escape, all the better for you! Don’t forget you could try an escape room though if you haven’t been to one before, they’re not quite the spa escape you might suspect.

A couple of crazy, positive and crazy positive days

    National Corn Chip Day!

Corn chips are any crisps made with corn instead of potato. May I recommend nachos! Have them plain salted, with dips or toppings. Celebrate also by talking about corn chips, looking up new flavours to try and maybe even getting a piece of taco merch like a pin badge that says ‘let’s taco bout it’.

    National Free-Thinkers Day!

It’s a time to open your mind to thinking creatively and freely. The time for new ways of thinking and ideas for content and projects. Take care of your free-thinking mind and put your entertaining or educational ideas to good use.

Fun fun fun – Lego straight to it!

    National Blueberry Pancake Day!

The classic breakfast items of pancakes can be a couple of light and fluffy pancakes or a stack of thin crepe-like pancakes. They can be made or pre-bought with blueberries in or you can have blueberries with or on top of any pancakes you like!

    International Lego Day!

Whether you build with instructions or go awesomely crazy with your own master builder skills, there’s no end to the amount of joy you can have with the timeless building bricks that originated in Denmark in 1932! Will you go to Lego City, Heartlake City, Lego Ninjago, Lego Mythica, Lego DREAMZzz or another fan universe! Say Hi to your favourite characters like the Lego Friends or Ninjago Ninjas or create your own.

    National Kazoo Day!

Ah the wonderful items that are kazoos! These musical instruments are a small version of a recorder with no holes and makes a funny noise- not that similar to a recorder I guess. Apart from you may learn to play them from a young age as they are often found as novelty gifts in party bags! They are most commonly associated with comedy similar to a Slide Whistle or one of those Giggle Sticks (otherwise known as Groan Tubes) that you tilt and it makes a funny noise.

2 different ends of the scale- Powerful and tasty

National Speak Up and Succeed Day!

At work, at school, wherever you are it’s always important to speak up. Have the British Transport Police taught us nothing?! If you see something that doesn’t look right… or if you need to speak so someone else doesn’t speak for you and show you can stand up for yourself. That’s the only way you’ll succeed.

    National Geographic Day!

The Earth is a beautiful place there’s no doubt about it. If you’re not currently travelling where you can see marvellous sights of nature, watch a David Attenborough documentary or two! You could see some footage caught on camera of animals that you would never usually see and it’s fascinating.

    National Chocolate Cake Day!

This delectable delight is favourite for many bakers and consumers around the country. Known as famous in many nations, it has been popularised by such British media as Roald Dahl’s Matilda and in Tesco you can now get the Matilda cake.

  • 26th January

That’s a whole lot of good- not being sarcastic

In order from left to right- fun, smart, important

    National Bubble Wrap Day!

See how many you can pop- that’s the challenge isn’t it? Note to self: plan next year to make a purchase online that will be wrapped in bubble wrap, to arrive a couple days before this day so you know you have some bubble wrap to pop. Don’t forget- you could always make a Bubble RAP πŸ˜‚

    Better Business Communication Day!

It’s time to think if you have a business, what can you do to make better communication with customers and clients? Have a team meeting, bring departments together and discuss strategies going forward to be a business that connects to the people who will make use of what your product or service is.

    World Environmental Education Day!

This day reminds us how important environmental issues are and how we need to not only make sure it is taught in schools, but to also educate ourselves on any changes we could make. Did you know if you check the back of most crisp packets, it says ‘Recycle at Store’? This means you should put all your packets in a separate bag and take them to the recycling point when you next pop in.

  • 25th January

Two very different days, but all the better to celebrate twice as much 😁

Rooted in local communities, we bring projects to life. Our deep understanding of regional dynamics ensures each project resonates with the local vibe.

    Burns Night!

Celebrated in Scotland to honour the poet Robert Burns on his birthday. People have large gatherings and all are happy and merry with music, dancing and refreshments. Why not try writing a poem of your own for your mates- or about your mates!

    Opposite Day!

Upside down and back to front, there’s no limit to the fun you can have! Say or do the opposite of what you mean (if you’re careful like you tell your friends you’re only joking- that’s the most important part!)

  • 24th January

    A real mixture today!

Emotional reactions and doing good for yourself and the planet.

    Global Belly Laugh Day!

Nothing is better than laughing with loved ones. No better feeling when you laugh til it hurts because you’re loving this part of life so much and you lose the concept of time because you’re swirling in laughter.

    International Mobile Phone Recycling Day!

If you have an old mobile phone, this is the day to take ownership and say goodbye to it by giving it up to an online reseller where you can see how much your phone is worth. Leave the past in the past and focus on the now.

    National Compliment Day!

If you see soemthing wonderful in someone, tell them- with a stranger it could make their day if you compliment their outift or hair as you have no idea about their lives. With a friend, family member or partner it means the world as that person will feel seen and will continue to strengthen your connection.

Some prefer to make it themselves if they don’t care for being surprised with raisins or currants in their shop bought ones.
