May Day, May Day! Everything’s fine, we’re just celebrating as always- which you’ll find out below it has to be shouted 3 times for an emergency:

Lei Day
The floral necklaces traditionally worn in Hawaii, are called Leis. On this day, we can celebrate by wearing the notable flower garlands that we’ve pre-purchased or made ourselves from fake or real flowers! Nothing like a holiday vibe especially if you’re not on holiday at the time. You can even gather the friends and fam for a Hawaiian themed gathering.

May Day
You’ve heard of maypole dancing? Well that’s what is tradition in lots of small villages across the UK on this day. Make a community event out of it, ideas tombola and funfair games and raising money for the local council or charities.
‘Mayday’ is the international radio emergency signal raised by pilots, firefighters or marine workers. It originated from a senior radio officer needing to create a signal understood by both English and French pilots. So the phonetic equivalent of “m’aider”, shortened from ” venez m’aider” a French phrase that translates to ‘come help me’, was Mayday.

International Workers Day
If you’re at work today, it’s a second birthday- a day to celebrate you and your team’s efforts. If you’re a manager, all the more reason to show some praise to your workers. How about an incentive or competition to get team members excited or even a great day to start planning a team-building day.
